Director of Sales – SLED IT Solutions (California)

About the role

GigaKOM is seeking a senior sales leader to head its SLED (State, Local Government and Education) IT solutions business across California. The Director of Sales will design and execute a statewide growth strategy, build executive relationships and lead a high‑performing sales team while working remotely with frequent travel throughout the state.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to expand GigaKOM’s footprint in K‑12, higher education and government agencies.
• Identify high‑growth verticals, prioritize accounts and create multi‑year growth plans aligned with revenue and margin targets.
• Build and manage a robust statewide sales pipeline, secure large contracts and support RFP and bid initiatives.
• Recruit, mentor and manage Account Executives and sales support staff, set performance metrics and foster a collaborative culture.
• Establish and nurture relationships with superintendents, CIOs, IT directors and procurement leaders.
• Develop strategic partnerships with manufacturers and distributors and coordinate with sales engineering and operations for seamless delivery.

Required profile

• Proven track record in public‑sector IT sales and team development.
• Deep network within California K‑12 districts, higher education institutions and government agencies.
• Strong understanding of California public‑sector procurement processes.
• Strategic vision combined with hands‑on leadership ability.
