Director of Quality – General Construction

About the role

The Director of Quality will shape and lead an enterprise‑wide quality program for a leading Midwest general contractor. This senior position reports directly to executive leadership and partners with project teams to embed quality into every phase of commercial construction delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term quality strategy across all operations.
• Build and continuously improve an enterprise‑wide Quality Management Program.
• Define meaningful quality metrics, reporting dashboards, and performance benchmarks.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a high‑performing quality team.
• Collaborate with project executives, managers, superintendents, and field personnel to proactively improve outcomes.
• Create standardized, scalable quality processes embraced by operations.
• Promote a prevention‑focused culture rather than inspection‑only.
• Analyze quality trends, warranty issues, rework, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop training programs that reinforce quality expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in construction quality management or related fields.
