Director of Production

About the role

Lingua Franca is seeking a Director of Production to own the end‑to‑end manufacturing process for its luxury clothing and accessory collections. Reporting to executive leadership, you will ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the brand’s high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all production activities from purchase order issuance through final delivery.
• Establish and manage seasonal production calendars, critical path timelines, and capacity planning.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, identify risks, and develop contingency plans for delays or supply‑chain disruptions.
• Oversee machine embroidery operations in the in‑house studio, optimizing cycle time and quality control.
• Manage relationships with domestic and international factories, negotiating pricing, lead times, and payment terms.
• Evaluate factory performance on quality, delivery, communication, and capacity.
• Identify, onboard, and maintain a robust vendor network to support growth.
• Develop sourcing strategies, mitigate sourcing risks, and drive continuous improvement in cost and margin.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading production functions from order to delivery in a fashion or apparel environment.
• Strong ability to manage multiple vendors and factories across geographies.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration with design, finance, logistics, and executive teams.
• Track record of developing and executing seasonal production calendars and contingency plans.
