Director of Plant Operations – Senior Living

About the role

The Director of Plant Operations leads the maintenance, laundry and housekeeping functions for a senior living community, ensuring a safe, clean and pleasant environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the laundry, housekeeping and maintenance departments.
• Maintain compliance with local, state and OSHA regulations.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Develop, document and manage the laundry, housekeeping and maintenance programs.
• Plan, prepare and control inventory, supplies, equipment and repair budgets.
• Implement company policies, standards and safety procedures.
• Coordinate safety inspections, fire marshal, health department and insurance reports.
• Lead the facility safety committee and report findings to senior leadership.
• Train staff on proper equipment use, chemical handling and MSDS review.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage multiple facility departments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience developing and maintaining operational budgets and inventory controls.
• Capability to lead safety programs and conduct regular inspections.
• Strong communication skills for training staff and reporting to executive leadership.
