Director of Operations

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Director of Operations in North Charleston, SC. You will manage onsite Account Managers so that clients are satisfied and Security Professionals perform well at multiple branch security locations and client sites. The role covers a large geographic area with frequent regional driving, and works across verticals such as healthcare, commercial real estate, government and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Account Managers through coaching, support and recognition, and take ownership of succession planning
• Build and grow client relationships, develop corrective action plans for operational improvements and maintain industry standards and regulations
• Analyze, report and drive operational metrics and KPIs using the company's Business Intelligence platform
• Identify and mitigate security risks, develop security protocols, training and response plans, and create injury-prevention action plans
• Work with branch leadership to improve financial performance: budget allocation, revenue growth, reduced non-billable overtime, better cash collections and expense control
• Drive organic business growth within existing client operations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business or a related field with 3 years of management experience, or an Associate's degree with 5 years, or a high school diploma with 7 years of management experience in a high-volume workforce or service environment
• Current driver's license if driving a company or personal vehicle for business
• At least 2 years of experience driving operational goals and metrics, and 2 years building and developing teams
• Preferred: law enforcement, military or security services experience, and experience managing a dispersed workforce

Required skills

• Proficiency in web-based applications, Microsoft Office and Business Intelligence tools for reporting and analysis
• Basic understanding of budgeting and financial reporting
• Networking skills and a commitment to safety and trust
