Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications leads the school’s brand management and recruitment marketing, aligning academic excellence with Jewish values. This senior leader works closely with the administrative team to raise the school’s profile, drive enrollment, and strengthen community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to elevate the school’s reputation and increase enrollment.
• Collaborate with senior administration, admissions, development, design, and the Board to create outreach materials for fundraising, admissions, events, and other initiatives.
• Oversee all aspects of the school’s website, ensuring content is current and aligned with branding.
• Partner with the Design Director to conceive and produce print and digital materials.
• Create content and manage the weekly SAA Scoop newsletter.
• Lead promotion and branding of major school events and revenue‑generating programs such as camps, gala, and back‑to‑school activities.
• Coordinate advertising, publicity, and public‑relations efforts, including crisis management.
• Stay informed on marketing trends in independent and Jewish schools and advise leadership accordingly.
• Work with Sinai Temple clergy and communications to cross‑promote events and maintain a unified message.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in marketing and communications, preferably in education or nonprofit sectors.
• Strong collaborative skills with ability to work across multiple internal teams and external partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a deep understanding of brand storytelling.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high‑quality materials.
• Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including Jewish educational principles.
