Director of Maintenance and Construction

About the role

The Director of Maintenance and Construction leads all maintenance, facilities, and grounds operations for Six Flags St. Louis, ensuring safety, reliability, and an exceptional guest experience. This senior leader translates corporate strategy into local execution, balancing operational excellence with financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Set clear expectations and direct all maintenance activities across attractions, internal teams, contractors, and cross‑divisional partners.
• Champion associate experience, fostering a culture of communication, accountability, and recognition.
• Lead resolution of complex maintenance challenges in collaboration with ride manufacturers and other parks.
• Develop and manage the division’s operating budget and capital project portfolio.
• Partner with corporate engineering, architects, and engineers on property enhancements, budgeting, and spend monitoring.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Extract, analyze, and report KPIs related to asset maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
• Enforce company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
• Implement and govern a park‑wide CMMS for consistent asset management.
• Uphold and advance safety standards, driving a proactive safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership in maintenance operations or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Executive‑level communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.

Required skills

• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
