Director of Housing Operations

About the role

The Director of Housing Operations leads the daily management of Georgetown University’s on‑campus residential system, overseeing housing assignments, occupancy, and revenue for more than 5,400 students. Reporting to the Executive Director of Residential Operations, the role partners with campus offices to support strategic renovation, occupancy forecasting, and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Direct operations for a complex housing enterprise with annual revenue exceeding $58 million.
• Manage occupancy for 5,400+ bed spaces, maximizing utilization and forecasting demand.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to set long‑term academic housing goals, including renovation of 1.5 M sq ft of residential buildings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key campus partners and leverage technology to improve service delivery.
• Support housing rate development, business development, and summer/conference housing initiatives.
• Present housing information to prospective students, parents, and university departments.
• Design and implement inclusive residential environments and respond to campus‑wide emergencies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in large‑scale housing or residential operations.
• Strong understanding of occupancy management, revenue oversight, and strategic planning.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and public presentations.
• Ability to work in an urban, resource‑constrained university setting.
