Director of General Line Procurement

About the role

Boise Cascade is seeking a seasoned leader to direct its General Line Procurement function within the Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division. The role focuses on optimizing purchasing practices, leveraging volume, and driving profitability while ensuring compliance and strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and coach the General Line procurement team to meet departmental goals.
• Set agendas, provide direction, and foster collaboration across the team.
• Disseminate market and product information throughout the organization.
• Advise BMD branches on market trends, future direction, and profitability strategies.
• Serve as the central hub for leveraging BMD’s purchasing volume and data collection.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key suppliers.
• Promote safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• College degree or equivalent experience in a related function.
• Typically more than 10 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• May require professional certification or an advanced degree.
