Director of Food and Nutrition Services

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Director of Food and Nutrition Services to lead nutrition and dietetic operations at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta (Decatur, GA). This senior role oversees both foodservice and clinical nutrition programs, ensuring high‑quality care for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, and evaluate nutrition and dietetic staff across multiple facilities.
• Manage daily operations of foodservice and clinical nutrition departments.
• Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures related to nutrition services.
• Maintain and monitor the department budget, implement cost‑control measures, and conduct quality reviews.
• Provide technical expertise in nutrition and dietetics to internal teams and the community.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Four years of relevant nutrition care experience, or two years in a lower‑level Dietitian/Nutritionist position.
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others while fostering teamwork.

• Proficiency in nutrient analysis.
