Director of Finance / Controller

About the role

This position reports directly to executive leadership and combines strategic partnership with hands‑on management of the accounting and finance function. The role will shape the financial infrastructure of a fast‑growing, multi‑service organization with complex inventory, logistics, and project‑based revenue streams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and produce accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, cash reporting, AP and AR functions.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies and scalable reporting processes.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and rolling forecasts for revenue, margin, EBITDA and cash flow.
• Analyze performance versus budget, build KPIs and dashboards, and support strategic scenario modeling.
• Provide profitability analysis by business line, project, customer and service offering.
• Manage inventory accounting, fixed assets, cost accounting and collaborate with operations on inventory, procurement and logistics.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, reporting enhancements and implementation of business intelligence tools.
• Lead and develop the accounting and finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of accounting teams.
• Proven ability to manage close processes, financial reporting and complex multi‑entity environments.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, KPI development and strategic financial analysis.
