About the role

The Director of Engineering leads the engineering operations for a hospitality property, overseeing budgets, maintenance programs, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage engineering budgets, monitor expenses, and develop operating strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee physical plant systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, and fire safety equipment.
  • Administer service contracts, supervise construction projects, and ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations, maintain licenses, permits and certifications.
  • Lead the engineering team, handle HR activities, disciplinary procedures, and employee communications.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of engineering/maintenance experience, or a 2‑year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, etc., with 4 years of experience.
  • Technical training in HVAC‑R, Electrical, and Plumbing.
