Director of Communications

About the role

Bay FC is seeking a Director of Communications to lead business‑side public relations and communications. The role will shape how the club is perceived across corporate partnerships, marketing, ticketing, community impact and executive visibility, supporting the team’s growth as it launches its inaugural season in 2024.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business communications strategy covering partnerships, community initiatives, ticketing, brand campaigns and major organizational moments.
• Identify compelling storylines, cultivate relationships with business, lifestyle and culture journalists, and secure earned media coverage.
• Write and edit press releases, executive speeches, internal updates, owner briefings and talking points.
• Support executive thought leadership through LinkedIn content, panel preparation, presentations and public remarks.
• Collaborate with Communications, Marketing and Social teams to amplify stories across all channels.
• Partner with HR and leadership on internal communications, including all‑hands meetings, organizational updates and employee messaging.
• Monitor media coverage and stay ahead of trends in women’s sports, the Bay Area market and the broader business landscape.

Required profile

• Strong media instincts and excellent judgment in fast‑moving environments.
• Exceptional writing ability for diverse formats, from press releases to executive speeches.
• Experience working with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to translate business goals into clear, compelling communications.
