Director, North America Retail Sales

About the role

The Director, North America Retail Sales will lead and execute retail sales strategies for Target and other mid‑tier, department, and specialty retailers across the United States and Canada. Reporting to the VP, North America Retail Sales, this senior leader will shape growth priorities, partner with category, brand and marketing teams, and ensure the organization meets its annual operating plan targets.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and own internal and external retailer relationships; drive annual retailer planning, pitch development and presentations aligned with category and brand objectives.
• Build and execute retail programs, expand digital partnerships and integrate insights to create seamless consumer journeys.
• Secure retailer commitments for merchandise and go‑to‑market strategies; launch campaigns and monitor key performance indicators.
• Leverage data and insights to identify market‑share gaps, white‑space opportunities and allocate resources to scalable initiatives.
• Meet and exceed annual revenue targets; develop long‑term plans, budgets and monitor financial forecasts with retail analytics.
• Provide leadership, direction and coaching to North America retail sales teams across multiple markets in the US and Canada; set clear objectives and KPIs.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in retail sales, preferably with national or multi‑regional responsibility.
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with category, brand, marketing, creative and product development teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive growth, manage budgets and deliver on revenue targets.
• Excellent communication skills for internal alignment and external retailer negotiations.
