Director, Government Relations - Regulatory

About the role

REGENT is building a new category of vehicle, the Seaglider, and needs a senior leader to shape its federal government relations strategy. The Director will own regulatory engagement, drive policy priorities, and advise senior leadership on how to navigate the emerging transportation landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead REGENT's federal government relations work supporting Seaglider certification, regulation, and operations.
• Engage with DHS, U.S. Coast Guard, DOT, and FAA to develop regulatory frameworks.
• Advocate for federal funding and program support through authorization and appropriations processes.
• Translate complex technology into clear policy narratives and build coalitions with stakeholders.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on government engagement strategy.

Required profile

• Established network of relationships on the Hill and with transportation agencies.
• Experience working directly with DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, DOT/FAA on regulatory or policy matters.
• Fluency in federal authorization and appropriations processes.
• Proven ability to advocate for emerging technologies lacking existing policy frameworks.
• Strong political and executive judgment to guide senior leaders.
