Director, Employee Relations

About the role

Mastercard is looking for an experienced Director of Employee Relations to join its Global Employee Relations team in New York. In this senior HR position you will partner with People Business Partners, Employment Law, Compliance and business leaders to ensure consistent, compliant employee‑relations practices that reflect Mastercard’s values and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Research, develop, implement and maintain global employee‑relations policies, procedures and guidance.
• Conduct fair, timely investigations into alleged policy or legal violations, including discrimination, harassment and workplace policy breaches.
• Liaise with Legal on privileged investigations, e‑discovery and electronically stored information searches.
• Design and deliver training on employee‑relations topics and compliance obligations.
• Support execution of key employee‑relations initiatives, managing timelines, dependencies and deliverables.
• Consult on employment screening processes such as background checks.
• Assist internal and external audits by compiling required information and maintaining documentation.
• Manage compliance with notices, deadlines and record‑keeping standards.
• Identify themes and drive continuous improvement of employee‑relations processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related HR functions.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and employee‑relations best practices across multiple regions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent judgment, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
