Director, DHS Business Development

About the role

Niyam is seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development to lead capture and growth across its Department of Homeland Security (DHS) portfolio. This senior, high‑visibility position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for driving large‑scale, unrestricted contracts exceeding $50M.

Key responsibilities

• Own and expand the FEDCIV and DOW business development pipeline from early identification through award.
• Lead capture planning and execution for opportunities over $50M, including competitive analysis, teaming strategy, solution shaping, and win‑theme development.
• Conduct gate reviews and make bid/no‑bid decisions using the Shipley BDLC capture methodology.
• Develop and maintain relationships with target DHS agencies to influence upcoming requirements.
• Identify and pursue agency task‑order opportunities and coordinate with the proposal management team to deliver complete submissions.

Required profile

• Proven capture professional with a track record of closing unrestricted deals above $50M.
• Experience managing end‑to‑end capture cycles in the federal government space, particularly with DHS components such as FEMA, CBP, TSA, and the Secret Service.
• Strong strategic thinking, able to own the pipeline and drive capture strategy independently.
• Comfortable operating in a high‑impact, high‑visibility environment with a seat at the leadership table.
