Director, Business Planning & Analysis – Surgical

About the role
Alcon is seeking a senior finance leader to partner with the US Surgical Cataract Commercial Leadership Team. You will drive financial planning, performance management, and strategic decision support for a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the US Surgical Cataract Commercial Leadership Team.
- Monitor medium‑ to long‑term business trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategic planning.
- Lead Annual Target, Strategic Plan, and Quarterly Business Review processes, ensuring accurate forecasting based on sales, pricing, and volume assumptions.
- Conduct profitability assessments across products, customer segments, and commercial programs.
- Provide financial leadership for new product launches, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on pricing strategy, demand forecasting, and launch investment planning.
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, reporting standards, and planning processes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk & Assurance and Operations to maintain strong financial controls and transparency.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team across the US and Mexico COE organization.
- Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and capability building across BPA processes and tools.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school + 18 yrs, Associate + 14 yrs, M.S. + 7 yrs, PhD + 6 yrs).
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- 10 + years of relevant finance experience.
- 6 + years of demonstrated leadership experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 10 %.
- Relocation assistance available.
- Preferred: CPA or CMA certification with strong commercial finance background.
