Director, Asset Management

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Director of Asset Management to lead the execution of investment strategies for its owned asset portfolio. The role partners closely with Real Estate Operations to drive financial, investment, and operational performance across the assigned assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of investment strategies, underwriting, and portfolio initiatives.
• Research and identify new investment opportunities, prepare financial proposals, and manage acquisition or development transitions.
• Maintain client equity relationships through regular communication, detailed reporting, and rapid issue resolution.
• Develop market and asset reviews, surface performance challenges, and present value‑enhancement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with debt and equity providers, prepare reports for investment committees, and monitor returns using DCF financial modeling.
• Measure portfolio performance against budgets and pro‑formas, manage cash flow, and make strategic capitalization recommendations.
• Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in real‑estate asset and investment management, preferably at a senior leadership level.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate financial and operational data.
• Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to equity partners and investment committees.
