About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide dignified, person‑centered care for developmentally disabled residents in group homes.
Key responsibilities
- Transport and safeguard residents during outings.
- Coach residents in skill development and administer medications.
- Provide personal care and perform household tasks, including meal preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, crouching, and two‑person lifting up to 250 lb.
- Ability to maintain personal safety and respond calmly during physical or emotional outbursts.
What we offer
- Base pay of $21 per hour (weekend differential of an additional $1 per hour).
- Part‑time evening and on‑call schedules.
