Day Program Support Staff

About the role

CHOICE is seeking compassionate individuals to join its Day Program as Support Staff. You will coach and support people with intellectual disabilities both at the day program facility and in the community, helping them achieve personal goals and enjoy enriching activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement educational, recreational, and life‑skill activities, sharing personal talents such as cooking, arts, fitness, and more.
• Provide job coaching, individualized training, and support for participants in community‑based employment or volunteer roles.
• Transport participants safely to community outings, including museums, parks, and adaptive events.
• Follow Positive Support Strategies and Support Plans, collect data, and report to Designated Coordinators.
• Perform basic health, medical, and personal care procedures and ensure a safe, supervised environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Services or related) or an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 1 year of direct care experience with people with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to lift at least 40 lb.
• Pass a criminal background check and demonstrate professional communication.
