Dietary Aide I

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Dietary Aide I in its New Smyrna Beach, Florida location. The role covers preparing and serving patient meals, keeping kitchen areas clean and organized, and supporting the dining service in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble hot and cold food items, including beverages, following standardized recipes and production requirements.
• Stock, rotate and sanitize nursing pantries and bulk nourishments, keeping accurate inventory records and billing documentation.
• Serve meals on tray lines, record food temperatures and deliver trays to patients using proper identification and isolation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, floors and equipment, using cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
• Operate dishroom equipment and café registers, process transactions accurately, and monitor sanitation and temperature logs, taking corrective action when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Basic math skills and the ability to communicate in English.
• Good customer service skills.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year of food service experience in hospitality or healthcare preferred.
• Driver's license preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Physical ability to perform the designated job tasks.

Pay range: $15.45 - $24.73. Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting. The facility is an equal opportunity employer.
