Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for its Wheeling, IL Service Center. The position offers an hourly rate of $23.63‑$37.48, Monday‑Friday shifts with various start times, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Service and repair diesel engines, air‑conditioning systems, and electrical components.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use the Cetaris system to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
• Ability to handle major repairs and lift at least 50 lb.
• Own set of tools and experience with AC and electrical systems.
• Class A CDL holder with experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
