Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time (2nd/3rd Shift)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for its South Windsor, CT service center. The position works the 2nd and 3rd shifts, Monday‑Friday, and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Handle major diesel engine repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use Cetaris software to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins or Detroit engines.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and work with own tools.
• Class A CDL holder with experience driving Class 8 trucks.
• Strong knowledge of trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
