About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for its Canton, MA Service Center. The position is full‑time on the 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 11:30 pm) and involves maintaining a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers and related equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers and forklifts.
- Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies and perform welding as required.
Required profile
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
- Ability to lift 50 lb, own tools, and work on AC and electrical systems.
Required skills
- Diesel engine preventive maintenance
- Major diesel repairs
- Air‑conditioning and electrical system troubleshooting
- Cummins and Detroit engine expertise
- Trailer preventive maintenance
- Experience using Cetaris work‑order software
