Diesel Mechanic – 3rd Shift (1am‑11:30am)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for its Troy, NY service center. The position works the 3rd shift from 1:00 am to 11:30 am, Monday through Friday, and offers competitive hourly pay.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Service diesel engines, including Cummins and Detroit models, as well as air‑conditioning and electrical systems.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding tasks as needed.
• Use Cetaris software to manage work orders and document repairs.
• Ensure safety standards are met and keep the shop organized.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with Class 8 trucks.
• Ability to perform major engine repairs and handle AC/electrical work.
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 lb and possess personal tools.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
