DevOps Engineer

About the role

The DevOps Engineer will design, develop, and manage automation and integration solutions across Alarm.com’s cloud infrastructure and application platforms. This role bridges hands‑on engineering with operational ownership to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of the company’s life‑safety and home‑automation services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build tools and frameworks that enable continuous integration and automated infrastructure management across the full cloud stack.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using Ansible, AWX, Puppet, and Terraform.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on best practices for cloud deployments.
• Evaluate, architect, and migrate on‑premises workloads to hyperscaler environments such as AWS and Azure.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues in development, staging, and production environments.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response to maintain production stability.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Software, and Quality Engineering teams to improve observability and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, monitoring standards, and alert metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud and virtualization technologies, including VMware, AWS, and Azure.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
