Development & Grant Coordination Intern (Summer 2026)

About the role

The Development & Grant Coordination Intern will support the IRC's development team in Silver Spring, assisting with donor research, data collection, and grant management throughout the summer of 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Research potential major donor prospects and aid outreach and cultivation efforts.
• Collect and track data on all funding sources, updating prospecting and proposal management trackers.
• Create a six‑month list of prospective donors.
• Audit development folders and templates to ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Assist in drafting and organizing grant proposals and related administrative tasks.
• Participate in grant reporting and training sessions for staff.
• Log internship hours on the volunteer dashboard and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree.
• Demonstrated high‑level writing and research abilities.
• Relevant coursework preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
