Development Engineer – Oral Healthcare Products

About the role

The Development Engineer joins Philips' Product Design team within the Oral Healthcare R&D organization, creating new‑to‑the‑world innovations that expand the product portfolio and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, check, optimize, realize, integrate, manage lifecycle and verify elements and parts of oral healthcare products.
• Develop high‑level and detailed designs, finalize integration, and write verification plans.
• Test, analyze and verify design quality while maintaining an outside‑in approach.
• Provide planning input, create personal schedules, and report progress methodically.
• Ensure thorough documentation for regulated devices and undertake occasional international travel.

Required profile

• 2+ years of mechanical engineering design/development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Ability to meet physical, cognitive and environmental job requirements.
• Strong technical problem‑solving and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical product development and material selection for mass manufacturing.
• Experience with injection‑molded parts, sheet‑metal parts and small‑parts assembly.
• Finite element analysis for static and dynamic stresses.
• Design of experiments and rapid prototyping methods.
• Knowledge of regulated‑industry standards (medical devices, PLM, FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
• Practical CAD experience, preferably Creo.
