Developer-Focused Copywriter

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Developer‑Focused Copywriter to shape how the brand speaks to developers – an audience that resists generic marketing. You will co‑create an authentic voice that feels empathetic, direct, and useful, and embed that voice across all developer‑facing touchpoints.

Key responsibilities

• Own developer‑facing brand campaigns, translating high‑level ideas into launch narratives, social, and paid copy.
• Build and maintain a developer voice‑and‑tone guide in partnership with Communications and Developer Relations.
• Create brand‑led assets that sit between technical content and pure marketing, including event materials and enterprise‑focused developer copy.
• Partner daily with Developer Relations as an embedded team member, ensuring technical accuracy while avoiding duplication.
• Develop short‑form copy that adapts expert material into clear, trustworthy messaging for developers.

Required profile

• 8+ years writing for developers or technical audiences, with a portfolio showing both technical and brand work.
• Proven track record of work that developers have shared or adopted, either in‑house or at an agency.
• Strong point of view on how brands should talk to developers, supported by concrete examples.
• Ability to read changelogs or docs pages and explain trust implications to developers.
• Experience using Claude or other AI models in your own writing practice.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working directly alongside Dev Rel or engineering teams rather than through briefs.
• Contribution to a voice‑and‑tone guide or writing templates adopted by other creators.
• Background in fast‑moving product companies where launch speed and accuracy mattered.
• Familiarity with the AI developer ecosystem, including coding tools, APIs, and evaluation criteria.
