Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1) – Full-Time Onsite

About the role

Grapevine MSP is seeking an enthusiastic Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1) to join its Bakersfield office. As the first point of contact for client technical issues, you will triage, resolve, and appropriately escalate requests while delivering professional, client‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network connectivity problems.
• Log, prioritize, and track support tickets accurately.
• Escalate issues beyond Tier 1 scope with thorough documentation.
• Assist with routine maintenance such as updates, patches, and health checks.
• Guide end users on system usage, applications, and IT policies.
• Maintain clear documentation of incidents and resolutions.
• Support security best practices and endpoint protection.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Familiarity with common office hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, scanners).
• Knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fundamental networking concepts (IP addressing, LAN/WAN).
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and know when to escalate.
