Deskside Support Technician

About the role

The Deskside Support Technician joins FlightSafety International’s onsite technical team to provide hands‑on IT assistance at the company’s learning centre locations. Working closely with the Regional IT Manager, the role serves both internal staff and external customers, requiring strong autonomy and a customer‑focused attitude.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and remote IT support, handling requests, troubleshooting, and resolving intermediate issues.
• Analyze problems, diagnose root causes, and determine whether to resolve directly or escalate.
• Install, repair, upgrade, and configure hardware, printers, imaging devices, and software.
• Coordinate hardware procurement and manage RMA processes with OEMs under warranty.
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory and provide recommendations to management.
• Assist with maintenance and updates to local network and server infrastructure.
• Provide support outside normal business hours on an as‑needed basis and travel when required.

Required profile

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of customer‑facing deskside support experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge of PCs and desktop hardware.
• Working knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and Windows desktop environments.
