Designer I

About the role

Perkins&Will is seeking a Designer I to support the design team through all phases of architectural and interior projects. You will contribute to creating functional, aesthetically‑pleasing environments while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing design plans, construction contract documents, elevations, details, reflected ceiling plans, and millwork designs.
• Create furniture layouts, ergonomic dimensions, finish and color plans, and project schedules.
• Support programming and space‑planning activities to address client and project needs.
• Develop and refine presentation materials.
• Collaborate closely with project team members and maintain organized, accurate, and legible work sets.
• Utilize Revit and other design application software to produce high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Revit, graphic design, and 3D modeling/visualization software (strongly preferred).
• Effective verbal and written storytelling abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a curiosity for design.
• Ability to collaborate, follow instructions, and work within a team environment.
• LEED AP credential or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire.
• Interest in completing ARE examinations.
