Designer / Design Engineer (Black Mountain/Asheville, NC)

About the role

Apollo Technical is seeking an enthusiastic Designer / Design Engineer to join our team in the Black Mountain/Asheville, NC area. You will work as a project design engineer, turning concepts into finished products while collaborating closely with R&D and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design proposals and engineered solutions that meet project briefs and specifications.
• Render 3D models in Keyshot to illustrate designs for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Create detailed engineered drawing packages, including all manufacturing data.
• Model standard parts in SolidWorks with high quality, well‑structured, and easily modifiable geometry.
• Maintain product literature such as part catalogues and installation guides.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams throughout the assembly process.
• Manage time effectively and communicate schedule changes to the team leader.

Required profile

• Innovative approach to design and engineering.
• Strong organisational and time‑keeping abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and understanding of ergonomic, human‑factor, and sustainable design principles.
• Effective communication skills.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (preferred).
• Keyshot (preferred).
• Familiarity with JobBoss ERP software (advantage).
