Design Engineer – 3D Modeling & Product Development

About the role
Hensley, a subsidiary of Komatsu North America, is seeking a results‑driven Design Engineer to create and improve mechanical components for construction and mining equipment. This onsite role in Dallas offers the chance to work on innovative product development while supporting the company’s growth.
Key responsibilities
- Design and create 3‑D models and engineering drawings for new products using Creo Parametric.
- Revise 3‑D models and drawings for existing products.
- Research, develop new concepts, and test prototypes.
- Assist with first‑article inspection, apply corrections, and request changes.
- Support resolution of product‑related customer complaints.
- Provide technical data to QC/QA and Sales for inspection and marketing.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to reduce rework and improve control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years recent experience in 3‑D solid modeling and assemblies with Creo Parametric.
- 2+ years recent experience creating 2‑D component and assembly drawings in Creo.
- Experience with surface modeling (preferred) and finite element analysis using Creo Simulate or Ansys (preferred).
- Basic design calculations, tolerance stack‑up studies, and exposure to PLM (Windchill) preferred.
- Familiarity with new product development processes; experience with construction/mining equipment wear parts or manufacturing (steel casting, machining) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and travel within the US and occasionally abroad.
