Dermatopathologist – Open Rank Faculty Position

About the role

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami Health System is seeking faculty members at an open rank to join its Dermatopathology service. This role combines clinical diagnostics, education, and academic research within a leading academic medical center.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert diagnostic interpretation in Dermatopathology and related subspecialties.
• Act as an independent diagnostic authority influencing patient care and treatment planning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and disease‑site conferences.
• Engage in departmental quality‑assurance activities and serve on committees.
• Support the academic mission through clinical, translational, or research scholarship.

Required profile

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Florida.
• Completed fellowship training in Dermatopathology.
• Additional expertise in Surgical Pathology is preferred.
• Research experience with an established portfolio is welcome.
