Deputy Director, Lending and Partnerships

About the role

The International Rescue Committee’s Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) is seeking a Deputy Director to lead daily lending operations and strengthen community partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Credit Strategy, you will co‑lead the lending team, oversee underwriting, and ensure loan production aligns with the organization’s mission to serve low‑income individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day lending operations, including pipeline management, underwriting oversight, and preparation of loan committee materials.
• Supervise and mentor loan officers and origination specialists, providing guidance on product fit, underwriting standards, partner support, and borrower engagement.
• Review and approve loan applications, term sheets, and recommendations before presentation to the credit committee.
• Ensure loan production and deployment targets are met while maintaining strong credit quality and mission alignment.
• Maintain and report on the loan pipeline tracking system, delivering regular metrics on volume, product mix, and performance.
