About the role

The University of Arkansas seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Department Head and Professor for the Interior Architecture and Design program on a 12‑month tenure‑track appointment. This senior academic position combines administrative leadership with teaching, research, and service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day management of the Interior Architecture and Design department.
• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in interior architecture, design theory, and related subjects.
• Lead curriculum development, accreditation processes, and program assessment.
• Mentor faculty, support scholarly activity, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Engage in research, creative practice, and professional service that enhances the department’s reputation.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field.
• Significant academic and professional experience in interior architecture and design.
• Demonstrated leadership or administrative experience in an academic setting.
• Record of scholarly publications, design projects, or exhibitions.
