Department Administrator, Myeloma and Transplant and Cellular Therapy

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine seeks a full‑time Department Administrator for the Myeloma, Transplant and Cellular Therapy divisions. The role provides leadership and administrative oversight for a large clinical operation generating approximately $10.2M in annual revenue and 15,000 ambulatory visits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies that align with the division’s goals and the health system’s market growth plans.
• Lead performance‑management processes for faculty, physicians, and staff, including coaching, evaluations, and professional development.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Myeloma, Transplantation and Cellular Therapy divisions, managing 16 faculty members and 23 advanced practice providers.
• Collaborate with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Oncology Service Line and Myeloma Institute to enhance academic, clinical and research activities.
• Manage faculty‑related processes such as recruitment, compensation plans, reappointments, and FMLA requests.
• Monitor financial and productivity reports, track wRVUs, and ensure accurate internal controls and compliance with university policies.
• Coordinate clinical operations across five satellite locations and support accreditation of transplant programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative or management experience.
• Proven ability to direct, manage and evaluate department operations and to set goals supporting strategic plans.
• Strong interpersonal, judgment and decision‑making skills, with a commitment to the university’s core values.
