Deli Bakery Department Supervisor

About the role

Meijer is looking for a Deli Bakery Department Supervisor in Marquette. The supervisor plans, directs and supervises day-to-day operations across the store's departments, mentors and coaches team members, and drives customer service, sales and store appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and team members, and spend most of the time in the store
• Staff, select and hire to meet staffing needs, and promote succession planning with career paths and promotion accountability
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge
• Own the department's P&L, sales and shrink, and model fast, friendly customer service
• Mentor and coach the team so they exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards
• Ensure the team is fully trained and has completed all required training
• Promote a safe work environment and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational experience in meat, bakery, produce and deli, plus customer service and product flow experience, is helpful
• Reliable and consistent attendance
