Day Shift Mechanic – Production & Facility Maintenance

About the role

The Mechanic B plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting plant operations on a day shift. This experienced technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains production and facility equipment while adhering to safety, preventive‑maintenance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture, advise on LOTO, PPE, fall protection and follow SOPs and cGMPs.
• Perform emergency and scheduled repairs, lubrication, cleaning, inspections and diagnostics on production and facility equipment.
• Provide electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic/steam and utilities support, including wiring, circuit testing, PC‑board repair, VFDs, boilers, compressors, HVAC and dust collectors.
• Assist root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement activities, and occasionally perform welding, carpentry or plumbing tasks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of mechanical, electrical or electronic maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical trade background (journeyman or technical school) with CMMS experience.
• Strong communication, teamwork and mentoring abilities; able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑driven and capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring installation, circuit testing and troubleshooting.
• PC‑board diagnosis, relays, I/O modules, VFDs, PIDs and 4–20 mA device repair.
• Mechanical troubleshooting, component replacement and gearbox ratio calculations.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic and steam system maintenance.
• Utility equipment support – boilers, compressors, HVAC and dust collectors.
• Occasional welding, carpentry and plumbing.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, machine‑shop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• CMMS usage.
