Databricks Solutions Architect – Pre‑Sales

About the role

As a Databricks Solutions Architect in pre‑sales, you will own the technical portion of the sales cycle for Databricks opportunities, from discovery through solution design, proposal, validation and handoff to delivery. You will work closely with sales, alliance and delivery teams to translate client needs into executable consulting engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with client engineering, architecture, data, analytics and AI stakeholders.
• Design lakehouse and medallion architectures, data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, governance, security and semantic layer patterns.
• Translate technical requirements into project scope, delivery phases, assumptions, risks, resource plans and estimates.
• Build and deliver demos, proofs of concept, architecture workshops and solution presentations.
• Create reusable pre‑sales materials such as demo environments, reference architectures, discovery frameworks and estimation models.

Required profile

• 7+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, solution architecture or technical consulting.
• Experience in consulting, professional services or technical pre‑sales, owning complex enterprise sales cycles.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills across engineers, architects, data leaders and executives.

Required skills

• Databricks architecture and implementation experience.
• Spark, SQL, Python, data pipelines, orchestration and distributed processing.
• Lakehouse, medallion patterns, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, governance and security.
• Data modeling, semantic layers, analytics architectures supporting AI/ML workloads.
