Data Scientist, Pricing (Forecasting & Deep Learning)

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a virtual Data Scientist focused on pricing, working with price optimization based on forecasted outcomes of prices and promotions. The role leads data science initiatives that drive business profitability, efficiency and customer experience, and helps build the company's advanced analytics infrastructure. It is open to virtual employment in several states including Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms and models on large datasets to create business insights, and act as technical lead on analytics projects
• Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical leaders and partners, and prepare reports and presentations
• Work with business partners and cross-functional teams to define project goals and incorporate business knowledge into solutions
• Explore new data science developments, build a library of reusable algorithms and document code and processes so solutions can be reused

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics
• Preferred: PhD in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Math or Statistics
• Preferred: past experience developing forecasting and deep learning solutions

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Mastery of statistical techniques to identify key insights
• Predictive modelling such as optimization, forecasting or recommendation systems
• Data mining and data analysis
