Data Scientist - JIATF 401 (Counter-UAS)

About the role

CACI is seeking a Data Scientist to support Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF 401). The role develops advanced analytical models, AI and machine learning solutions that turn large volumes of operational, intelligence and mission data into predictive insights and decision-support products for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) operations, capability development, operational assessments, acquisition decisions and strategic planning. The position is full time, regular, requires a minimum TS/SCI clearance and up to 50% travel within the continental US.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain statistical models, machine learning algorithms and AI-enabled analytical solutions.
• Use Maven Smart System, Palantir, Power BI and Python to build predictive models and decision-support tools.
• Analyze structured and unstructured operational, intelligence and enterprise data to find trends, anomalies and predictive indicators.
• Design forecasting models, classification algorithms and optimization techniques for operational planning and resource allocation.
• Automate information extraction, target identification, threat analysis and operational assessments.
• Build dashboards, visualizations and executive decision-support tools.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, developers, operators and intelligence analysts.
• Evaluate system performance, capability gaps and acquisition priorities, and support experiments and technology demonstrations.
• Research emerging AI technologies and produce documentation, reports and briefings for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• MA/MS with 10+ years, BA/BS with 15+ years, AA/AS with 17+ years, or HS/GED with 19+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying data science to complex operational or enterprise problems.
• Experience with MSS, Palantir or similar enterprise analytics platforms, and with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical modeling and predictive analytics.
• Ability to explain complex analytical results to senior military and civilian leadership and to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Desired: experience with DoD, intelligence community or C-UAS organizations, and with AI for object detection, anomaly detection, threat forecasting or autonomous systems.
