About the role

The University of Arkansas seeks a Data Science Program Teaching Associate Professor for a 12‑month, fixed‑term appointment. This non‑tenure‑track faculty position focuses on delivering high‑quality instruction and contributing to curriculum development within the Data Science program.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in data science, including lectures, labs, and seminars.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments aligned with program goals.
• Advisory role for students, providing mentorship and academic guidance.
• Engage in scholarly activities such as research, publications, and conference presentations.
• Collaborate with department faculty on interdisciplinary initiatives and program improvement.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong record of scholarly activity and a commitment to academic excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
