Data Research Intern – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Department of Operational Support’s Office of Supply Chain Management is seeking a Data Research Intern to support its data‑driven initiatives. The intern will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects that improve supply‑chain planning, logistics, and procurement across global UN partners.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse data from multiple databases and sources using statistical and mathematical methods.
• Develop reports, dashboards and simple visualisations to communicate findings.
• Maintain and clean data sets, ensuring high quality for further analysis.
• Translate analytical results into written reports or presentations for management.
• Apply basic machine‑learning techniques and statistical methods to identify trends and relevant variables.
• Support the design and implementation of process improvements and innovative data‑based solutions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, economics, engineering, computer science).
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or onsite environment.
• Availability for a 3‑6 month internship starting June/July 2026, full‑time or part‑time.
