Data Manager

About the role

The Data Manager supports enterprise data management, integration, governance and configuration management across a program. The role ensures enterprise data is structured, accessible, reliable and aligned with mission and operational objectives, and covers data lifecycle processes, integration and interoperability, data standards and governance, and controlled documentation reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and improve data lifecycle processes (ingestion, storage, usage, archival, retention)
• Define and maintain data standards, validation rules, metadata management and quality control procedures
• Integrate data sources and artifacts across federated systems and support interoperability
• Maintain enterprise data repositories and storage environments
• Run data quality assessments and improve data reliability
• Perform configuration management and controlled documentation reviews
• Analyze data structures, policies and workflows and recommend improvements
• Develop documentation, reports and briefing materials, and integrate new data models and standards
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and stakeholder teams and communicate technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences

Required profile

• BA/BS and 7+ years of experience in data management, governance, integration or enterprise data environments, or no degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
• TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required
• Experience with data lifecycle management, data integration, interoperability, metadata management and repository administration
• Knowledge of configuration management, version control and documentation governance
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission environment

Required skills

• Proficiency with data management and analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Excel or Access
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired qualifications

• Experience with Intelligence Community programs or other federal government environments
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, cloud data environments, automation workflows and configuration control boards
