Data Management Coordinator

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Data Management Coordinator to oversee clinical research data from collection through analysis, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage REDCap projects, instruments, surveys (including bilingual versions) and generate participant GUIDs.
• Run Python/PySpark pipelines to ingest REDCap and study data into Azure Data Lake and maintain bronze, silver, and gold notebooks in Synapse.
• Maintain Delta tables, data dictionaries, and perform de‑identification using HMAC‑hashed IDs.
• Produce clean, documented datasets for investigators, generate reports, and support recruitment and enrollment activities.
• Manage Azure resources, Key Vault secrets, and access permissions.
• Mentor junior staff, ensure data quality, and resolve data anomalies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of the data lifecycle, especially for medical/clinical research data.
• Experience handling PHI, HIPAA compliance, and IRB‑driven data processes.
• Proven ability to design validation checks, reconcile data sources, and maintain audit‑ready records.

Required skills

• REDCap project creation and API usage.
• Python programming, including PySpark.
• Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Key Vault.
• Delta Lake tables and medallion architecture.
• Data de‑identification and pseudonymization techniques.
