Data Integration Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Hy-Vee, Inc., a company working on e-commerce, mobile development, supply chain, finance, data warehousing and business intelligence technologies, offers a paid summer 2027 internship in data integration. The internship supports the development and support of computer applications using the Agile development methodology and is based at the West Des Moines corporate office.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the data team to receive technical guidance.
• Contribute to the design and development of data pipelines.
• Develop unit tests for existing applications.
• Support research projects with data retrieval and analysis using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Adhere to and influence coding standards.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.

Required profile

• Working toward, or recently acquired, a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Knowledge of data development technologies.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.

What we offer

• A paid internship position.
• Up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to discuss other options and hours.
