Data Entry Clerk – Long‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Data Entry Clerk to support data management activities on a long‑term contract basis in Ashland, Virginia. The role is essential for maintaining accurate business records across multiple departments and requires a high degree of precision when handling large volumes of information.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and update business information in company databases and spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.
• Review incoming records from sales and internal teams to confirm completeness, consistency, and proper formatting.
• Validate customer, shipping, fleet, and barcode data before final submission.
• Use Excel to organize, track, and maintain large data sets for operational needs.
• Identify discrepancies, correct errors, and follow established procedures to preserve data integrity.
• Support basic data‑governance efforts by maintaining standardized records.
• Adapt to new software tools and apply provided training to complete daily tasks.
• Manage assigned work independently while meeting deadlines.

Required profile

• Prior experience in data entry or a similar administrative support role.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when handling numeric and text‑based information.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Comfortable performing repetitive computer‑based work while maintaining precision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas (a plus).
